I use Diamine Imperial purple in my Montblancs alot. Its delicious. I don't get any gold sheening when I use it though. I prefer Blue Water Ice ove Fire and Ice. I wanted to like Regalia but its far to inconsistent and feathery. Enjoy them!

It looks like she got one of the problem batches (going by the ‘freckling’ happening). The Wet Pen did a video about the issue and he reached out to Regalia about it. They replaced the paper; their response was that it was down to an issue with coating & temperature problems on a single machine which has since been fixed. IIRC they did replace it, so I think it’s more of an issue with a faulty batch rather than the paper itself (which is generally known for being really FP-friendly)

It looks like you may have one of the Regalia paper batches that has a defect. It was covered in a video by …someone (I’ll try and find it). It doesn’t always behave like that, but there were some batches that had horrific issues, but the ones unaffected seem to outperform other papers. It’s a shame they’ve had consistency issues (although so have Rhodia and other brands, so it’s not necessarily a death knell for the brand). You may be able to reach out to them to get a replacement (IIRC that’s what someone else did, and they replaced it)

Hey Karyna. Another great video. It seems like the Regalia paper isn’t very fountain pen friendly. In many of your ink swatching videos it seems to just about fall apart. Is that something you have noticed as well? Despite that there are times when some inks do behave in interesting ways on it. This video is an example of that. Have a wonderful day!

Love your nail colour in this video! And I’ve just got my first Ferris Wheel ink, got the Aurorealis limited edition and the shimmer is amazing. But the pen itself feels a bit on the light side, but for a beginner like me it’s quite nice to use.

My Lamy 2000 blew me away. I didn't understand why people would like it so universally until I had it in hand. It is extremely smooth and the only way it could be better is in a dark green color or titanium. Titanium should fit right in with their Bauhaus styling though.

I used Rose Gold Antiqua as one of my holiday journal inks in a Graphilo paper notepad.

Where did you get that brass nib pen? I really like it, and my pen dealer doesn’t carry anything like that.

There’s an handle on the spine of the field size one. Nice. These are nice but seem more suited for an outdoorsy type person.

I wish the Pro Gear came in more colors. The Pro Gear in Manyo Nuts would be lovely

I got one Nahvalur pen. Broke two days out of the box. Of course I had inked it up, but my dealer took it back for exchange anyway. They asked which pen I’d like to exchange it for. Anything but a Nahvalur! I’ll never buy one of those again.

Man, I don't know how you do it. I couldn't get the Glacier or Merry & Bright to write even with a broad nib! They just clogged and clogged and refused to work, and you're getting them to write in Fines!

Hello Karyna. I enjoyed this review a great deal. These covers are really sharp and I like how through use the canvas will show unique wear on it like leather will. The replacement notebooks seem unjustifiably expensive and something like a Field Notes is what I would likely use. I use those notebooks out on the range and have for years. The price of these covers seems pretty reasonable and I like both of them. Each would serve a purpose. So it’s something I will be looking into further. A great review!! I like my Lochby A5 holder for sketch books and the pockets are way cool for papers and some bills I need to look at for the week. I like the pen loop but honestly I only put the fountain pens that are lesser in price in it, like the Lamy Safari and I keep the shorter versatile Kaweco in one of the pockets inside it. ❤😊

Thanks for reviewing these. I do like the A5 cover. It has a very specific look for certain people who like this look. Canvas always reminds me of military style. I agree. I think the price for the refill feels a little high, but I guess at least they use Tomoe River paper.

This week are a lot of great inks! I was surprised by R.Oster muddy sand and BPC antique sepia. Beautiful shading! Glacier looks very interesting, perhaps not for writing but your zentagle definitely sparkles ✨ ☺️

Happy Anniversary - wait until you reach 37+ years! You packed a lot into this video which made it pretty interesting to me. You mentioned early on (and briefly showed it) a new pen from Goulet. Would that happen to be the Franklin-Christoph model 31 Ascension Wing Limited edition?? I've been enjoying mine with a 1.1 mm stub nib. I normally don't go for real sparkly light-to-white pens, but this one really appealed to me. I am fully retired now, but when I was working I always looked forward to a new position. Of course, there was always a very small amount of trepidation until arriving at the new place, office, etc...., and then the excitement started!!

I love all your ink choices. I own some & the rest are on my wish list. I love seeing your zentangles!!! I am going to try them when I get organised & yours are a wonderful ad for doing them with fountain pens 💜💚

Did you have any issues with the Diamine Glacier ink clogging up your pen? Tried it in a TWSBI with a Broad, and clogged right away. BTW, another great video.
